Are fabric swatches or metal samples available?
Our goal at Zipstools is to keep cost down so that your price is as low as possible. Because of the high cost of fabric and the number of requests, we only send out what we call "fabric clips". A fabric clip is enough to show you the color and texture but is about the size of a paperclip. If you wish to receive a fabric clip, please email your request with the fabric names and your complete mailing address. It will be mailed to you. Unfortunately, there is no way to mail metal samples at this time.
How close are the colors that I see on my screen?
As close as we can get them! But each computer is different so colors may vary. Consider them approximations.
How do I choose the seat height for my stools?
**18" seat height is for a desk or kitchen table that is between 28"-30" high.
**25-26" seat height is for a countertop that is 36" high.
**29-30" seat height is for a bar that is 40-42" high.
**34-35" seat height is for a lunch counter or custom bar 45-46" high.
How many stools will fit at my bar?
Since each stool swivels, allow approximately 24 -26"" of space for each stool. If you're not sure, order less! You can always order another stool once you get them, if there's room (after all, Zipstools arrive in less than 3 weeks!).
What kind of swivel mechanism comes on my stools?
Our standard swivel is a commercial grade swivel mechanism. It rotates 360 degrees. For an additional $16 per stool, you can add a memory swivel (this item is located at the end of the catalog after all the stools). This is a spring loaded mechanism which allows the back to swivel approximately 100 degrees in either direction and then returns it to its original position facing the counter.
What if I order the wrong size stools?
Please measure carefully before ordering to insure that you get the size stool that you need. Since all stools are made to order, we cannot accept any returns or exchanges.
Will my stools really arrive in less than three weeks?
Your made to order stools leave our factory in 7 working days. The rest depends on UPS shipping time to your home (approximately 5-7 working days).
What if I hate the stool?
If you're that uncertain about how it will look, don't order all the stools you need, just order one. If it looks great, order the rest. If it looks rotten, give it to your husband to use at his workbench.
My kids love to spin around on swivel stools. Is there any way to prevent this behavior?
Yes! Although we can't control your kids, we can control the swivel mechanism. For a $16 additional charge per stool, you can have a memory return swivel. (Find this item on the stool catalog page at the very end.) This is a spring loaded mechanism which allows the back to swivel approximately 100 degrees in either direction and then returns it to its original position facing the counter.
